Granddaughters

Took me out for a meal on Wednesday Evening, however I ended up paying because neither of them is old enough to order at the bar yet. Mum did help to carry the food though and Dad tested the beer for quality.

#1 is in full time school now and apparently had a glowing report this term, doing well with numeracy, she could tell me all the numbers on the table in the restaurant. Not shy of trying new tastes in the food department - despite the limited children's menu she was keen try my carrot & coriander soup and my Lincolnshire sausage. Still cleared her plate too. She eats American Style with the fork in her right hand.

#2 is quite a conversationalist although I don't know all the words yet. She eats well and plays well but is currently resisting all attempts to get her to eat food with cutlery. She no longer bursts into tears when granddad appears which is a relief for me!

Beautiful! And, who needs cutlery? Go with the flow, we are a long time grown up! It made me smile to see #2 reaching for her (huge) meal, digits extended, even before I read your text. How time flies though.
